Our league has a long tradition of recruiting and training youth umpires from novice to expert. Additionally we are lucky enough to have a robust group of passionate adult umpires who share their love of the game, knowledge and experience with our youngest umpires. We know that without our umpires, no games can be played. Our goal is to give everyone who is interested the opportunity to learn the rules and mechanics, and continue to grow and develop through mentorship from our experienced adult umpires. Many of our youth umpires who started in our league have gone on to continue working as umpires even through College.
Our youth umpire program begins at league age 12 years old, but anyone youth league age 12 or older are welcome. You will begin at our Single A Division, and you will work with a partner. We want all of our umpires to feel well-prepared to call a game accurately, while also feeling confident. We will provide all the training to prepare you to “be in charge, and stay in charge” and we ask that you commit to the process, and follow through by showing up for our required trainings:
- 3 Classroom Trainings in January (Dates and Times TBA)
- 1 Mandatory on-field mechanics training in February
- We partner with 4 local little leagues to provide multiple dates and locations to fulfill your on-field training requirement.
If you would like to be added to our list of youth umpires please fill out this interest form, and you will receive an invite to register with “Stack Officials” our umpire scheduling app.
